Call for Papers : Smart Mobility, World e-ID and e-Smart September 17-19 , Sophia Antipolis France Paper from Laurent Chivallier - APiLINX Founder & CEO Remote Patient Monitoring has a huge potential, however the industry is still very fragmented and the market development is at his very early stage. In order to unlock the different entry barriers, several aspects need to be examined across the value chain. The paper aims to demonstrate that Remote Patient Monitoring needs to be done anytime anywhere attached to key secured technologies combined with RFID such as NFC. The paper will explore the need for authentication and certification of Personal Health Records and data's in a trusted environment. The integration of the hardware, middleware and application software in a wireless and mobile environment from the wireless sensor through the mobile phone to the network servers up to the service delivery to the client will be instrumental in the ease of use and scalability of such new services. To illustrate the need of such integrated trusted platform, the paper will focus on two services, one related to teenagers and young adults obesity for wellness care and prevention and one related to constant monitoring as chronic disease management such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, and high blood pressure. To provide such new services based on mobile devices, the paper will explore as well the usefulness of open source software. Therefore a trusted platform integrating key secured technologies, delivering turnkey end to end services will be key to Remote Patient Monitoring market adoption and any market related to "sensible" data's remote monitoring.
